There has been a lot of publicity and discussions on Rachel Dolezal because she chose to express herself as a black woman despite her parents being white.
I don't care to entertain the controversy on if she should be able to express herself as black or not because the end result reflects someone who is not black in color but, had done a lot for black people. There are many black people who don't do anything but display ignorance or their own violence against their own and fail to uplift their people. Rachel is being cast out because people don't know how to except it.
This woman stepped down from her position behind all of the publicity. Someone who has actually doing something for our communities and took genuine interest in our communities by being a part of the schools and so on was cast out as if she had done nothing because she claimed to be black and because she was found to be white she has been treated differently, treated as if she had done nothing for the black people.
What about the African American parents of African American children who do nothing for their children? Who do not want to be bothered with their children but, when a Caucasian couple adopts an African child or an African American child those same good for nothing black parents turn their noses up at them for wanting to do what it is that they will not.
Michael Jackson bleached his skin along with other celebrities who do not wish to be dark skin or of color. Some speak on it but most do not. It was swept under the rug as if it did not matter. Yet it is not okay for a white woman to self identify as black. Society is a joke and the judgmental games that are played are ridiculous and reflects just how sinful the world is no matter how many people claim they are religious and are believer's. The truth is on television everyday.
I'm not choosing sides but I will say that there are very few people of color who do for their own. Rachel has walked the walk and identified with who she would like to be, which is more than some people of color can say for themselves.
We are so quick to pass judgement on what we don't understand and it's not okay.
Bruce Jenner was not bashed for becoming Catilyn but Rachel is being bashed for wanting to be black. Let's worry about our own backyards and cleaning our foliage before digging in another's.
