What I See

This is what I see when I look at me-
I see beauty over and underneath chocolate brown skin-
I see a girl who constantly fights to win-
A woman willing to stand by her man through the thick and the thin.
I see a mother and a daughter handling her responsibility-
A woman on the rise to reaching prosperity-
Sometimes I wonder what is it that others see
Can they see the power that God has given?
The single mother that rose up after years of being weakened by a man that abused her and chose to misuse her.
Do they see the prophet in this young artist?
How she has fought and conquered to receive knowledge.
People should see how she overcame the pain from her struggle and misery from her troubles. She’d gotten lost in the world as a teenage girl thinking she was Gods only gift in the world.
This woman prayed for wisdom, strength, and knowledge. The father blessed her with two young prophets and an education in college. Now she has earned a career as a doctor helping young ladies, men, mothers and fathers.
Can people see when one has overcome their tribulation?
When you ask the question, what you see the response often comes quite naturally when they say I only can see what’s right in front of me.
